Truck Year/Model/Engine: 2016 Freightliner Cascadia Detroit DD15
After idling for hours in Dallas, TX in 100 degree weather, my check engine light came on. So I plugged in my scanner tool from OTR Performance to see what the code was. The issue was that the Inlet NOx Sensor had gone bad and need to be replaced (see picture below). The truck ran fine, even with the check engine light on but didn’t know for how long. I knew I had to make it home ASAP before the truck started to have issues and had to pay costly repairs on the road. After looking up a few videos on YouTube, I knew I could do the repairs on my own. Don’t let these shops rob you and don’t be scared to get a little dirty. After replacing the part, I used the scanner tool to clear the code. You can get the part at a dealership but there will be a core charge, or you can order it online below.
