Truck Year/Model/Engine: 2016 Freightliner Cascadia Detroit DD15
Check engine light came on my dashboard. So I plugged in my scanner tool from OTR Performance to see what the code was. The engine crankcase filter seemed to be faulty. The only noticeable issue that I could tell was that the Oil Pressure gauge on my dashboard was lower than normal while idling and running. I have heard that there could possibly be oil that comes out of the crankcase but didn’t happen to me. While it has filter in the name, you will need to replace the whole assembly to properly fix the issue. There are 3 different parts that go along with the assembly. The crankcase breather, sensor and gasket. I have listed the part numbers below. Be sure to get all 3 parts. If you go to a dealership for parts, they will require a core charge if you don’t take the old part with you. Don’t let these shops rob you and don’t be scared to get a little dirty. After replacing the part, I used the scanner tool to clear the code.
