For the month of July, I was out on the road for a total of 26 days. I barely got a chance to make it home due to it has been really hard to make a profit as of lately. Everybody knows if the wheels ain’t turning, you ain’t earning. It is getting tougher and harder for Owner-Operators to make money. I will say though, diesel prices have been coming down a bit, and that leads to a bigger profit margin. The price of the fuel that you pump into the truck alone can make or break an Owner-Operator. Dry Van market continues to still be bad.
Truck & Trailer Repairs/Maintenance
Truck – Total $1540.80. My passenger steer tire kept going low so I took it to get it replaced while I was in Spokane, WA. After I replaced it, I proceeded to go to my delivery 25 miles down the road. While at my delivery, I noticed that the tire that I just replaced was low again! I ended up adding air and went back to the tire shop after I was unloaded. They checked it again and found out that the wheel was cracked, and the tire that they changed out was perfectly fine. That’s what I call wasting money SMH! Bought a $700 steer tire for no reason and they wouldn’t let me return due to I had already driven 50 miles on it. I also ended up having to replace all my 4 batteries of my truck when I got home. That cost me a little over $500 for the batteries itself. I replaced them myself. Click here to see how I changed them! https://youtu.be/BA2syQHtjYA I also used this battery tester from Amazon for under $30 bucks! https://amzn.to/48KoxAH
